I managed to make my way into the press stands for the rally, and got some closeups of Obama. I'll post 'em.

Obama Rally

Standing in line for the Obama Rally was terrible - they had really tight security - but once the rally really got underway they just did away with the metal detectors and everyone rushed through. I was able to get really close to the stage and got some detail shots of the signs and of one of the performers. Then Obama came out and everyone got really excited and I took about a million pictures of him, haha. About 20 minutes in I left to get some overhead shots from Kimmel. The lighting was hard to work with but they had a huge spotlight on the stage which was great...white balance was confusing though what with those orange lanterns. Anyway, I was going to post some of my photos but for some reason they aren't uploading.

Easy on the Pocketbook

I just thought I'd share KEH with ya'll as a source for good quality used equipment.

KEH has a rating system that identifies the condition of each product, and I have bought cameras (my Nikon F100 was only about $300 there!), lenses, and other great stuff from the site. I recommend it to anyone who needs equipment but can't necessarily afford to buy new.

A lot of the listings are for barely used equipment that has simply been set aside by techies for newer models. Try it out!

...Copia

I saw this work somewhere else, but I can't remember where. I love the way he uses repetition to drive his point into the viewers mind. It works. I like the work, and I think his photography is very effective.

Have a look

Interesting images. What do you think?

NY Times Blog Photo Story

Now that we have a blog, I thought this would be a good thing to post! It is a photo story from the New York Times blog about the ateliers of couture houses. I like this example because it is accompanied by a short but interesting posting, and the photos are all very appropriate, informational, and fun to look at. So, check it out!
